At Turiba University there are approximately 3500 students.
There is a professional men's basketball team ''Turība''. To apply for being in the team you must participate in a mandatory competition to show off your abilities. Team members will receive study fee discounts.

The decision - making body of Turība University is the senate, whose responsibilities are to look after Faculty council recommendations and decisions. That is – study program formation and confirmation, study calendar formation and also study fee discount rule formation. Another decision making - body is the constitutional assembly, whose responsibilities are to discuss fundamental annual questions, follow the changes on the legal side of university laws and also participate in the rector election and scholarship questions.
Faculty councils responsibilities are to look after and develop each faculty's study programs, elect faculty lectors. For each of these instances it is mandatory that 20% of the participants are the students of the university.
The last decision - making body is the academic arbitration, whose responsibility is to solve issues between students and the university. This decision - making body is not constant, but it is made sure to take place in the time of a necessity.
QUESTIONS REGARDING BAT STUDENT COUNCIL
BAT student council consists of 6 departments – Academic Department, Sponsorship Department, Culture and Sports Department, International Cooperation Department, External Communications Department and Marketing Department.
The most important value of the BAT student council is its members.

To become a member of BAT SP, it’s necessary to participate in one or more department meetings and activities.
To become a member of BAT SP Padome it’s necessary to file an application for the Padome election. The Padome members are then voted by the Turiba University students.
In order to become a member of the BAT SP Board, it’s necessary to candidate for the Board elections, the members of Padome will vote for potential members of the Board. Candidates for the Board elections need the most competent knowledge about the operation of BAT SP, compared to other elections.

By being an active member of the BAT SP, you earn the opportunity to apply for a tuition fee discount “Student Council”, so it is possible to receive up to a 40% discount on tuition fees. Working in the SP Board earns the opportunity to apply for up to 100% discount.
It is possible to run for the position you want during the BAT SP Padome meetings to represent the interests of students in BAT decision-making bodies – the Faculty Council, the Senate, the Constitutional Assembly.
It’s not mandatory, however it expands the faculty members abilities to inform other students about the activities of the faculty.
QUESTIONS REGARDING TURIBA UNIVERSITIES LIBRARY AND STUDY INFORMATION CENTER

Books can be picked up in person at the library.

To reserve books in the electronic catalog, you need: a username and password, which can be obtained in person and remotely by contacting us by e-mail: biblioteka@turiba.lv.

It is possible to extend the deadline for returning the taken library book by contacting the library by e-mail or calling the library's telephone number, as well as in person.

QUESTIONS REGARDING THE STUDIES
Each study course is assigned a specific number of credit points so that the student can be transferred to the next study year. Additional information - the number of credit points can be transferred to a specific study course by changing the study programs (including educational institutions).

It’s possible to register for optional courses in the universities system http://batis.turiba.lv (by selecting the section “Registration for options courses” in the menu) It should be taken into account that the majority principle is used to determine the course, which means that in the course, which has been chosen by the majority of your course members will be included in the study program.

Optional courses are an opportunity to choose the most suitable courses from the offered study program, according to the required number of credit points. The issues included in the different study courses may overlap, as the study courses are interrelated within the industry. However, in any case they are viewed from different angles.
Attendance at lectures is not officially evaluated, however, the lecturer of each study course values it.
The student's correct attitude towards the lecturer's work would be valued by applying in advance for a remote lecture, so that the lecturer of the particular study course can take into account the circumstances of it.
The week of student conferences and scientific readings is an opportunity to attend presentations of various research papers. It takes place as a way to self-growth and as an additional educational aspect in the study process.

QUESTIONS REGARDING STUDY PAPER DEVELOPMENT
The topic of the study paper should be topical, it is recommended to connect it with the field of interest. The topic of the study work can be specified with the advice of the supervisor.

Scientific works, monographs of recognized authors, doctrine.
Research papers developed for the defense of the academic degree are available in the library of Turiba University. Examples of internship reports and reports are not available in the library.

QUESTIONS REGARDING THE INTERNSHIP PROCESS
The answer to the specific question differs with the study program. More information is available at http://batis.turiba.lv – Menu – Assignments for studies. In the selected section it is possible to view the study courses of each study year, in which it is possible to find the answer to the question and forecast further studies.
The application for the internship happens independently, the student chooses the internship place so that it’s possible to fulfill the specified internship tasks.
If the student does not meet the requirements of the study course “Internship”, then no credit points are awarded for the study course.
The internship takes place remotely, the study course is not canceled. However, it is the duty of each student to follow the decisions and regulatory documents of the university in cases where the algorithm of the university's usual activities is changed due to the epidemiological situation in the country.

The rules for the rotation of tuition fee discounts regulate that in order to qualify for budget places, the average grade must not be lower than 8.0.

You can apply for the project, as well as address any questions you may have regarding the exchange program, in consultation with the Vice-Rector for Study Development and International Cooperation or the Erasmus Coordinator. To go study abroad, a student must have completed at least one year of studies at Turiba University.
