Buddy

Every exchange student has a contact person or so called buddy (one of Business school of administration Turība students) which he can contact before coming to Latvia. You can contact your buddy on facebook or through e-mail. Buddies are those students, who are interested in offering friendship and guidance to a newly arrived International/ Erasmus Student, has the determination to speak a foreign language and want to meet other students from all around the world and develop a global perspective. Buddy is a person who helps to become familiar with the new environment, solve problems, to understand everything. Buddy will provide assistance that can make life easier for new International / Erasmus students, he will also offer linguistic support, cultural guidance and information about daily life at BAT and Latvia. Buddy together with international student will also organize and participate in activities / events / parties that can facilitate intercultural dialogue.

It is very good for exchange students to have someone here, in Latvia who can help them out a bit, show them how things are done and just generally be someone to chat to. This buddy in the frames of his competence will answer all questions of foreign students, maybe help them out with things like bank accounts and mobile phones, show them around a bit and generally be friendly.
